Presentists are so cute lol. They really privilege their own point of view. Clearly, everything has been predetermined since the Big Bang. There are temporal relations between events, but the passage of time itself is an illusion.

Not only all of time, but all of possibility. Everything that can occur, must. We exist as a single thread in the tangled ball of infinity, experiencing only one possible moment at a time.

“Now, sir. We’re looking at now, now. What’s happening now is happening… now.”

    “What happened to then?”

    “We missed it.”

    “When?!”

    “Just now.”

    “When will then… be now?”

    “Soon.”

I always think of this. Whenever you talk about the present, it’s already the past, because it passed while you were thinking about it.

There’s no way to think about the present, only near past and near future.

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Machine is immortal… Even in death I serve the Omnissiah
