An “alliance of authoritarian powers” is working more closely together against Western democracies, the head of Nato has warned.

Jens Stoltenberg told the BBC that Russia, Iran, China and North Korea are increasingly aligned.

He also said he was confident allies of the Nato military alliance would agree a long-term funding deal for Ukraine by July.

The Nato chief explained: “China is propping up the Russian war economy, delivering key parts to the defence industry, and in return, Moscow is mortgaging its future to Beijing.”

Russia was providing technology to Iran and North Korea in return for ammunition and military equipment, he added.

Laura Kuenssberg is a tory lapdog. Thought I’d just say.

I’d like to join the debate by agreeing with both of you.

What I would add, is that I think she is a Government. lapdog - and I think we’ll see her fluttering her eyelashes at Starmer, when the time comes.

That’s sort of correct. But she would have devoted her entire life to getting Corbyn out of office if 2017 had turned out differently. She’s a Tory through and through, and so is fucking Starmer.

She gets better access to Ministers for interviews etc, the odd scoop etc.

You don’t go far in political reporting with out good access to government. You don’t get (and keep) good access to government people without winning their favour.

In return for carrying the party message, she gets thrown the odd no-mark (or disobedient MP) To bully on tv once in a while, to enhance her credibility.

She’s by no means alone. It’s just the rules of the game.

Thanks for spelling it out, I’m fairly new to UK politics. I’m beginning to think I might be too plain spoken to ever really understand it. I feel like my kid, watching those penguin slide toys at the market. What fun, look at it go, whee. 🙂

The vast majority of the article is just quotes from Jens Stoltenberg, though. It’s not an opinion piece.

No but Kuenssberg was interviewing him. Any decent journalist would point out that allies of these authoritarian powers are gaining power in the US and UK and elsewhere, and ask how worried should be we about Russian money funding the Tories or the Republican love-in with Putin.

But she won’t because she is not a journalist, she’s a political gossip and Tory suckup.
