    Taika Waititi

Oh the dork who recently signed this letter and who is a staunch supporter of Israel?

Sucks that such a gifted and internationally-acclaimed Māori has to be such a shithead when it comes to Israel’s crimes against the indigenous people of Palestine. I’ve seen plenty of small-time Māori content creators being bitterly disappointed in him and I sympathise with them because that shit’s really gotta suck - the worst I’ve had to deal with is some artist here or there whose work I appreciate but I haven’t had to deal with one of the most prominent members of my community and someone who was viewed as an inspirational figure turning out to be a disgrace. Never meet your heroes I guess?

The child actor who plays the lead is named Kal-El Tuck. In Kryptonian, “El” means “Child”. “Kal” means “star”. Quite literally, Kal-El means “Star Child”.

I thought that was strange until I saw Nic Cage named one of his kids that.

No, it’s not the same kid.

Ah. I can say with almost utmost certainly that it will be completely dogshit. Look at the Amazon LOTR - absolute garbage.

As someone else said, make new things, but also - can we stop turning movies into TV? I’m pretty sure it’s not because it will be better artistically, or because it needs the extra time. However, I don’t know the exact reasons that TV could be a better investment… Is it because it brings viewers weekly? Or just because TV is hot right now?
