Liberals keep saying young people need to vote blue no matter who or else politicians will ignore them and only cater to older people lol. That’s not how it works. Why don’t you use to tens of millions of dollars in corny political ads and try to sell to young people, or better yet use that money to materially improve their lives

or even better than that, put up a candidate that doesn’t have a decades long history of anti-gay, anti-feminist, anti-integration stances and/or isn’t okay with genocide or apartheid multiple times over the decades.

obama was the closest thing they ever had to that and we had one of the highest voter turn outs ever as a result; but this fact must to too inconvenient for them since they went right back to the old status quo candidates and cock blocked a popular candidate from the presidency twice.

I really think it’s the DNC being an ideological void trapped in the end of history. There’s nothing for them to aspire too, no better future to build. Their world doesn’t allow it. All it allows for is crooks and grifters to chase influence and power, they have nothing to build a coherent identity or philosophy around. They cannot plan for a future because for them there is no future./ Or maybe thjey’re just fucking idiots.

Fr, why should I even vote this election when what the dems are going to do is simple: they’re going to take a dive and let the GOP win?

Hell, Biden might as well just be Raegan.

The entirety of their logic: old people vote for old people.

If true, it’s really just an indictment of the American electorate lmao.

my family member in his early 60s was the FIRST to comment on how fucking old they both are tonight. same guy who thinks 35 is too young for office.

i think middle aged people prefer middle aged people, young-old people prefer young-old people, but not many people root for more whole ass 80 year olds

They could have just used the one that is simply true, incumbents are at a huge advantage in elections and are unlikely to be primaried unless they fuck up monumentally. Since the ghouls are unlikely to release their claws from power until they die we end up with older and older politicians.

Also, the changes in voter patterns they’re showing is largely just shifting demographics. It isn’t that people under 50 were more likely to vote in 96, it is that there are a lot more people over 50 as a percentage of the population.
