    Either controlling is, as you imply, inadmissable and you therefore become vegan because you mustn’t control animals, or controlling is sometimes admissable and you purport carnism.

    Or, and hear me out here because every vegan I’ve ever talked to on this topic legitimately seems unable to grasp this as a concept:

    They do not value humans and animals equally and thus see no problem in treating them differently.

    It’s comments like yours that attempt a “gotcha” while missing the incredibly simple that makes people not take you guys seriously

      Yes, vegans very much know that (and I don’t see how you might think otherwise, given that they say it so often), so the question becomes why that is exactly, to which the answer is arbitrary.
