…but I feel like it isn’t as straightforward as that when you look at it in context . None of them will acknowledge that the specific project he donated to was a voter turnout PAC after Trump lost 2020, which 1) are there even any conservative/republican movements to increase voter turnout? And 2) I could imagine a disaffected conservative 17 year old blaming the 2020 democrat victory on insufficient turnout (yes I know it was a record year, but not everyone realizes that) and turning to support the only project that looks like it’s trying to solve this “problem”. I remember when I was around that age some of my high school teachers encouraged registering to vote and actually doing so once we were of age, stressing that they want everyone to do it even if our beliefs don’t align with theirs. I don’t know what teachers are like now or in whatever small town in PA he was from, but based on my experience it’s not hard to imagine someone young who might have political beliefs but no knowledge of how the political system works fixating on one factor like voter turnout.
You look at the timing, you look at the specific group he donated to, you look at how old he was at the time (and add in that people who knew him in high school said he expressed more right wing views) and I just don’t see it as definitive evidence that he was left leaning.
Also a lot of chuds are saying he was only registered as a republican because of that fringe lib movement earlier this year to register republican and beat Trump in the primaries, but wikipedia says he was registered republican since 2021 when he turned 18.
I know it’s still too early to try to make a full picture of his motives, and ultimately we may never know, but at this point I’m not convinced he was secretly leftist or whatever narrative the chuds are pushing.
I don’t know
