Impeachment proceedings against the French president passed their first round of parliamentary scrutiny Tuesday when the assembly’s 22-person committee judged the procedure admissable, voting 12 to 10 in favour…
Macron can count on his centrist Ensemble (Together) coalition and the mainstream right Republicans to vote against…
The Socialists have also announced they will not vote to impeach Macron.
What gives?
There is no socialist party anywhere in Europe, just confused Keynesians daydreaming about MMT
If the Europeans had been dreaming about MMT they would have called for abolishing the euro currency. The European left doesn’t even want to leave the eurozone. That’s how dire the situation is over there.
because they are not socialists
The French Socialist party is about as socialist as the SPD in Germany
The “Socialist Party” are succdems at best, i.e. liberals.
not that i’d deny the allegations of them being social democrats, but they wouldn’t have sufficient votes with them either
Splitting then away from the coalition would be an enormous win for Macron
wow I haven’t learned anything from these replies, y’all are about as helpful as the French socialist party I guess
The NFP doesn’t have a majority so not sure if it would be worth trying?
