So, as you can see from two of the other posts on this community, someone came in and… had a bit of fun. The server takes backup every night at 0 and so I rolled it back to that. I have however, because of that, made it so that you have to be given permission to use the /im command. If you need that please tell me. But, do people think we should go all the way and implement a whitelist?

Also, should I update the server to 1.20(.1)?

I’m don’t play on the server (for now?) but I wholeheartedly recommend a whitelist. Griefing can become a severe nuisance over time, specially if it’s not noticed immediately. And it can be really disheartening to find out a thing you built got rolled back just because some kid spent an hour or so fudging the server up. Just a simple “DM me in lemmygrad” might dissuade a bunch of people. Also don’t allow any non-basic commands for non-admins.

Yeah, a whitelist is probably the best course of action. Just about anything else would be more or less like trying to put bandages over a sucking chest wound.

Yes, I definitely think putting up a whitelist is a good idea.

Also I’m in favor of updating the server to 1.20 I want them camels

What’s the /im command? Also, 1.20 would be nice but I’d be down waiting another week for more client mods to update for those that use them.

Regarding backups… maybe you could make 2 or 3 updates per day and just auto-delete old ones to save on space?

Whitelist for sure. The easiest way to vet people is to require PMs from applicants and look at how long they have been on Lemmygrad for. Trolls are likely to be new accounts with very little to no history of posts/comments. If you want to let in people from outside the Lemmygrad community they should be vouched for by an older member.

Updating to 1.20 should be ok. There were no major changes to world gen and the update seems stable.
