Agree it is much poorer for lacking them. It’s immersion breaking being in the far future, zipping around on an interstellar craft, yet being forced to explore slowly on foot. I really can’t even use the ship? Cmon.
I don’t know if I buy that line, tbh. I see they use basically the new iteration of skyrim’s engine. Skyrim had horses. I’m skeptical that this really couldn’t be done by creating a “horse” with different textures.

Apparently there are limits to the speed things can go in the engine with the physics fucking up, hence lots of dragon related glitches early on.
That being said, you might be right.
