I personally can’t wait to see communities like r/hiphopheads, r/internetisbeautiful, r/listentothis, r/battlestations… join lemmy and become as active as they are on reddit. what are some of y’all fav?

The music production ones r/ableton r/audioengineering r/mixingandmastering r/maschine
yes add to the list: r/musicmaking, r/headphones, r/audiophiles, r/indieheads, r/WeAreTheMusicMakets, r/drumkits, r/bandcamp, r/vintageobsecura and I’ll be the happiest kid lurking around here
I simultaneously want a headphones comm because I love headphones, and don’t want a headphones comm because I need to stop fucking buying headphones.
Lemmy.film has a headphones community but it’s just starting out.
There are a few music production communities around: https://lemmyverse.net/communities?query=musicproduction
None of them are super active, and I’m not sure more granular communities would get a critical mass yet… but yeah I’d love an active ardour community or an x32 community.
There’s 2 smaller instances specifically for musicians. I would keep an eye on their communities.
lemmy.studio
waveform.social
Both have an Ableton /c, but not much content yet
I completely agree. It makes sense though that the first communities are mostly tech-oriented, since the first users who migrated to lemmy was probably tech-oriented.
