I can’t wait to build hyper-walkable cities and make parking space non-existent.

However, it feels like all games I’ve ever been hyped about have turned out disappointing, like Cyberpunk and KSP2. However, the CS2 devs seem to be showing off their game without much restriction and they aren’t exactly making out of this world promises which makes me feel that this time it might turn out diffirently…

Hopefully the car traffic is better. As usual for a Paradox game, I’ll just pirate it. I can’t stand their business model of releasing a game in Alpha state and then selling base content as DLCs.

I don’t have any issues with pirating, but I honestly think they’re a pretty good company considering they are making such an extensible and modable game even though there is far less money in giving users those tools. They definitely release DLC but over 10 years it wasn’t more than $100 worth of content? I think Cities 1 has more replayability than any other game I’ve played and I have spent a total of like $50 on it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They’re a pretty awful company that has a nazi fan community in Hoi4 and they don’t seem to care. I don’t think you understand. It’s not extra content, it’s base content that should’ve been in the game to begin with. When their games release, they are bland, empty and sometimes even unplayable. Their game is only finished after 1 or 2 years of DLCs. So you’re fine with paying 100$ or 200$ for a regular game? That doesn’t seem like a great deal to me.

Meanwhile take a look at No Man’s Sky from Hello Games. Their game flopped at launch, yet they’ve been working for years to improve the game at no cost for players.

Paradox loves to milk their player base, and the fanboy community just eats it all up.

Traffic does seem to be greatly improved, and that’s like the main reason I’m hyped about this game. Now, you’ll have to care about parking, cost and comfort of the transit, meaning that I can put all of my knowledge gained from watching RMTransit and NotJustBikes to good use. Also, you can now build walking-only streets in the base game

I have just shy of 3,500 hours played on Cities Skylines, but I couldn’t keep up with the torrent of DLC’s which made me stop playing it. When they started selling things as DLC’s that moders hade previously released for free I just lost hope, but the modding community was a huge part of why I kept playing as long as I did, and I really hope they are allowed to be a part of it this time around too. Although I fear everything is being commercialized and monetized up the wazoo these days, I will probably have to give it a go eventually.

I always get excited for a new City Sim/Builder and City Skylines is the best one.

Considering how shallow and underdeveloped CK3 and Victoria 3 came out compared to their predecessors, I wouldn’t hold my breath for any Paradox sequel for a while.
