    My thinking: forget about technicalities of wherever he was an inactive “moderator”…

    …focus on where he was an active administrator. NSFW ex. (link courtesy previous comment thread). Which includes the subreddit the OP is about, to be sure.

          It looks like he was assigned as mod in a time when you could assign any valid username as a moderator to a sub. He was also assigned to r/jailbait among others.

            Right, hence my top-level comment and the previous discussion about it - given your link aversion:

            ~Spez was the mod of a vile sub!~ Spez was the admin of an entire site with many vile subs.

            The more-easily-defensible criticism is also the harsher criticism.

        i agree. but btw, if ur on android, u can use an app like UrlChecker to preview the link before opening, or maybe your lemmy client has a ‘view source’ option.
