You’re not really meant to succeed on some tests, like examining the body, if you manage to do it straight away you skip out a big chunk of the game, but that bit of the game is good, so you shouldn’t skip it! The game is designed around failure as much as success, you don’t need to save scum the rolls, just see what you get and go with it.

Depends on the problem, some fixes are pretty cheap. More so if you can do them yourself. Not saying it will be cheap, could be completely fucked, but best to know what’s up.

For what it’s worth I’ve done some fairly major repairs on my cars over the years, sometimes on my own, sometimes with the aid of a friend and a crate of beer. Between YouTube (Haynes Manuals back in the day) and two minds you’ll be suprised how easy it is to do.

I liked pillars for the story but I found the combat extremely boring and repetitive. Once you’ve found the buffs and debufs that works it’s just a matter of applying them by rote. Sadly there is loads of combat. If pillars was more like disco with less combat and more interesting dialogue checks I think it would be a much better game.

Tankie is a meaningless word. If you point out China has undeniably made progress under communism, you’re a tankie. If you point out Stalin wasn’t the evil dictator westerners make him out to be (even though it’s disproven by the literal CIA itself) you’re a tankie, if you think capitalism is causing problems in the USA you’re a tankie. If you criticise US or NATO foreign policy you’re a tankie. If you criticise the Republicans you’re a Tankie. If you criticise the Dems, guess what also a tankie. If you think that the USSR and the PRC are/were perfect little angels that never made any mistakes or did anything wrong ever then you’re also a Tankie.

It’s just too broad a term for me or anyone to identify with any way. It’s not an ideology. It’s a dumb insult to dismiss the opinions of others you disagree with without having to engage with their point at all or critically analyse your own beliefs in any meaningful way.

Counterpoint, the other group of people who will benefit are those that breathe air. The reduction of air pollution will benefit all in the city, including workers who have to work in the air of New York and who do not drive at all.

My personal favourite is to break from staring after 30 mins, exclaim, “Hang on, we’re going about this completely back to front!” then spend the next hour deriving from first principles, only to arrive back at the original problem, but now with slightly different notation.
