THE KILLING NEVER STOPS

Four escaped male convicts seize control of a women’s prison and proceed to terrorize the inmates, one of whom is reporter Emanuelle, incarcerated on trumped-up charges.

Oh, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, that’s a great one! All of D’Amato’s Dominican Republic-shot movies have such a vibe. I love them!

    I miss the video rental/store days…

Zombi Holocaust was shot on the other side of the world ( i think Maluku Islands ) , but it also has a great vibe. The almost sacrifice was great.

I worked for a few years in the Traumathek, an alternative video rental in the aughts - in Cologne, Germany. Right before DVDs started replacing VHS for good.

I miss the long movie talks with customers. One customer always stopped by when the new DS9 episode dropped, so we could watch it together at the store.

The video rental is still going, meanwhile renting mostly DVD and opening their space for movie screenings.

I think you would like the offering

Yeah, a lot has gotten easier in the age of streaming, but it hasn’t been all progress: we have definitely lost the human element/connection along the way. People who were passionate about movies and (tv)shows, telling others about it. It’s a real shame.

The Traumathek looks like a great place. You’re right, they’ve got a great offering. It warms my heart to hear that a place like this is still going strong.

Ah, Köln… das bedeutet dass wir im Grunde Nachbarn sind. Grüsse aus Holland! :)

Oh - ja, sieht so aus - schöne Grüße aus Köln!

          Freut mich

Edit: one of our main sources for buying uncensored versions of lots of movies, was Holland. Before the internet, Germany was much harder at censoring and most Italian classics were still banned.

You guys always had as much more open approach, to many things.

I’ve heard that a lot got censored in DE back in the day. I hope that has changed now.

Tbh, since the Internet i haven’t kept track of official German releases.

I prefer watching in the original language, even if there are no subs. There’s so much that gets lost in translation …
