        Depends if it’s shlock horror like zombie games or dino crisis then yes Gamers do the big horny, for more psychological horror games such as Silent Hill, Siren, or the Fatal Frame series then most characters are on avg plain or “traditionally good looking” but don’t look like they have a mobile trailer following them to apply make up every couple hours.

          Fatal Frame

          Compared to Silent Hill and Siren, Fatal Frame’s never gone for absolute photorealism and its female protagonists have basically always looked more like Japanese idols. Not sexualised*, but very pretty with overdesigned outfits you wouldn’t probably realistically wear when exploring an abandoned old Japanese mansion

          *That is until Fatal Frame 5, the last game in the series as of now. It’s absolutely full of bouncing boobs everywhere, even on the ghosts, many of whom are buxom babes with tons of cleavage showing. The game also had a wet t-shirt mechanic that allowed you to see the characters’ underwear through their clothing

    Someone who has a twitter account (🤢🤮) and more committment to the bit needs to yassify, idk, Freddy Kruger and Big Boss or whatever masculine characters are supposed to look tough or scary.

    It would be funny stoking the outrage from chuds when they see characters they think are badass with a glow up.

      Kojima completely fucked up mgs5 but not making it absolutely clear to people that got in board with 3 and have been riding Big Boss’s dick since that the dude was a fucking monster on the highest level. Ground Zeroes was a good start, but yknow I’ve played the msx games, Big Boss was ideologically pro child soldier. Your nuclear equipped mercenary nation could have maybe had more in game scrutiny cause yeah, being the AnCap military rogue state is bad and should be treated as such. Instead it romanticized it more than peace Walker even did. The fake BB was suuuuuch a bullshit cop out, the parasites or whatever were stupid. Phantom Pain should have destroyed any good will fans had towards Big Boss and not pulled any punches in doing so, instead they didn’t even attempt a punch.

    some company should make a game that makes you login via facebook or insta and generates the characters’ faces by averaging out those of the player base. Then watch the ensuing meltdown about the characters being “ugly” or whatever
