Johnston… previously pleaded guilty to a felony count of interfering with law enforcement during civil disorder in July 2024.
The 56-year-old actor was initially arrested in June 2023 after the FBI tweeted a photo requesting information about his identity. He is alleged to have led a group to the “front line of rioters confronting the police who were defending the entrance” to the Capitol, helping to launch an assault against a group of officers.
I think Bob’s burgers was kind enough to throw some work his way, he’s been in a few episodes since the charges were laid.
Whether they’ll do so when he gets out, or whether the class based stigma of the conviction will prevent them, is another question.
As far as I know, Eric Bauza has voiced the character since the charges were brought to light.
He was replaced in 2023. I think there may have been a period where he was fired and they didn’t have a replacement yet, and Jimmy Pesto just wasn’t on the show, but I’m not certain.

Jimmy isn’t a main character, most people probably never noticed he was replaced, I know I didn’t.
oh, that’s what you’re calling insurrection conviction this week?
That’s what I’m calling all prison convictions. Because there’s a stigma there. It’s part of why prison labour can be so easily exploited. Because it’s a class based stigma.
Someone charged with a cannabis position isn’t the same as someone charged with trying to overthrow an election.
AIUI those were already partially in the can when he was still charged and they stuck by the “Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law” especially since he is voicing the role and not appearing as a face actor. I don’t expect that to be continued and I would expect a death or recasting soon.
