      But the media pretends abortion is a 50/50 issue in the US or that Israel is overwhelmingly supported by all Americans. With abortion it’s more like 70/30 in favor and Israel is maybe 50/50 total population-wise, heavily against with young people, but ultimately it’s not like 80% support as the media would like us to believe. So, the propaganda has an effect, no doubt, but even that has limits. A lot of people are able to see through bullshit in the end

          That’s why I think overall a centralized form of governance is best, but it’s one of those things the people must have the ability to always keep in check. Having a central committee that decides things and hands down orders is great from a getting shit done perspective. It can go bad though of course. Mao had some ideas on how to handle that. No system is ever perfect though and probably the best way to keep things always going a positive direction is education of the masses and trying to stamp out all remaining tendencies towards reactionary and capitalist mindset in ways that don’t breed more resentments over time.
