It’s going to be every politician’s excuse from now until doomsday. It’s already happening in American politics. Trump himself did it earlier this month:

Tech bros have fucked the world so hard in so many ways.
Almost as if it were intentional.
Almost.
I don’t think they’re that crafty and devious. I think they just found another way to make themselves piles of money.
This particular grift won’t last long, though. The fact that Degenerative AI is useless for most (perhaps all?) things is rapidly becoming obvious and the grifters’ desperation is increasingly obvious as well.
That’s exactly why I think you’re giving them too much credit.
